In the Book of Genesis, Naphtali (נַפְתָּלִי "My wrestling", Standard Hebrew Naftali, Tiberian Hebrew Nap̄tālî) is the sixth son of Jacob and the founder of the tribe of Naphtali.

His biological mother is Bilhah, but he is look upon a boy of Rachel who provided Bilhah her maidservant as a odalisque for Jacob within response to her barenness. This is around counterpoint to her sister Leah who has already born four sons for Jacob. Rachel is overjoyed at a birth, saying "I have had a great struggle with my sister, and I have won" (Genesis 30:8, NIV).

Rachel so list him. Naphtali means our struggle.
